Djenné – Ségou – Bamako (14 jours)
Jour 1 : Arrivée au Mali Arrivée à Bamako le soir; accueil à l'aéroport et transfert à l'hôtel;
nuit à (hôtel)
Jour 2 : Bamako - Ségou En route vers Ségou, la quatrième région du Mali; visite de ville de
Ségou, avec une balade au bord du fleuve pour visiter le marché de poterie, nuit à Ségou
(hôtel)
Jour 3 : Ségou - Mopti A Mopti, visite de Mopti, ville portuaire du Mali; voir le port de
pêche, la fabrication artisanale des pirogues, et le marché, nuit à Mopti (hôtel)
Jour 4 : Mopti - les Monts Hombori - Douentza En route vers les Monts Hombori; visite de
la falaise de Kondjo et la Main de Fatima; nuit à Douentza (hôtel)
Jour 5 : Douentza - Tombouctou Départ pour Tombouctou; visite de la ville: les mosquées
anciennes, universités, le musée et les anciens manuscrits islamiques, les maisons des
explorateurs, le marché et le centre artisanal, balade à dos de chameau sur les dunes, nuit à
Tombouctou (hôtel)
Jour 6 : Désert Sahara Journée d'excursion au désert en véhicule 4x4; visite d'un campement
touareg sur les dunes; retour et nuit à Tombouctou (hôtel)
Jour 7 : Tombouctou - Mopti Départ de Tombouctou et traversée du Sahel jusqu'à Mopti;
balade à pied au bord du fleuve Niger au coucher du soleil; nuit à Mopti (hôtel)
Jour 8 : Fleuve Niger Journée de navigation sur le fleuve Niger; visite de villages de
pêcheurs bozos et de campements peuls; observer la grande variété d'oiseaux et peut-être
aussi des hippopotames, retour et nuit à Mopti (hôtel)
Jour 9 : Mopti - Pays Dogon Au Pays Dogon; visite du village Songo, renommé pour sa
grotte de circoncision avec peintures rupestres; continuation sur Sangha agglomération de
villages Dogons, visite de l'aire divinatoire du renard; nuit à Sangha (hôtel)
Jour 10 : Le Pays Dogon Descendre la falaise de Bandiagara pour visiter les villages Banani,
Ireli, Amani et Tireli; possibilité d'assister à une danse traditionnelle des masques Dogons;
retour et nuit à Sangha (hôtel)
Jour 11 : Le Pays Dogon - Djenné En voiture pour le Pays Dogon, pour visiter les villages
Terely et Endé, avec visite de courtoisie chez le Hogon (chef spirituel du peuple Dogon) dans
sa grotte; l'après-midi, en route pour Djenné, nuit à Djenné (hôtel)
Jour 12 : Djenné - Ségou Visite de Djenné - voir des centaines de kiosques étalés devant la
magnifique Grande Mosquée, inscrite au Patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco; en fin journée, en
route pour Ségou; nuit à Ségou (hôtel)
Jour 13 : Ségou - Bamako
Jour 14 : Bamako - départ final Visite de ville de Bamako : vue panoramique de la ville du
Point G; visite du Musée national, du marché rose, et du village des artisans; le soir, transfert
à l'aéroport pour le départ final.
Circuit 2: Bamako – Djenné – Mopti – Pays Dogon - Mopti – Bamako (8 jours)
Jour 1 : Arrivée au Mali
Arrivée à Bamako le soir; accueil à l'aéroport et transfert à l'hôtel; nuit à (l’hôtel)
Jour 2 : Bamako - Djenné
Départ pour Djenné déjeuner en route; dîner et nuit à Djenné (campement)
Jour 3 : Djenné - Mopti
Visite de Djenné : voir la belle mosquée, le marché animé, nuit à Mopti (hôtel)
Jour 4 : Mopti - le pays Dogon
Visite de la ville, déjeuner, départ dans l’après midi, nuit à Douentza (campement)
Jour 5 : Le Pays Dogon
Visite des villages Dogon, nuit à Sangha (campement)
Jour 6 : Pays Dogon - Mopti
Déjeuner à Mopti, croisière sur le fleuve Niger en pirogue, nuit à Mopti (hôtel)
Jour 7 : Mopti - Bamako
Départ pour Bamako, déjeuner en cours de route, nuit à Bamako (hôtel)
Jour 8 : Bamako
Visite de la ville de Bamako, le soir transfert à l'aéroport pour le départ final (hôtel)

 Express going to the festival and return while discovering Mali

 

 

 

 

 

          Start of Tour: 10th January 2012

Bamako – Douantza–Timbuktu – Desert au Festival –Dogon Country – Mopti - Djenne- Ségou-Bamako

 

 

Day 1: 10/01/12: Arrival to Bamako airport assistance and transfer to Hotel

 

Day 2: 11/01/12: Breakfast and depart for Douantza (a full day's drive through the heartland of Mali,) lunch in Mopti, Dinner and night in campement at Douentza.

Day 3: 12/01/12: Breakfast in Douentza, depart for the Festival au desert site, installation on the festival site in a traditional tuareg tents and lunch. Toward 1600 hrs ( 4 o'clock in the afternoon), official opening of the Festival.

Day 4: 13/01/12: Festival au desert (On the festival site enjoy the three days full of festivities: music, music, poetry, arts and crafts, camel races, meeting of civilizations and more! overnight camping at the festival site with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner all the three festival days)

Day 5: 14/01/12: Festival au desert (On the festival site enjoy the three days full of festivities: music, music, poetry, arts and crafts, camel races, meeting of civilizations and more! overnight camping at the festival site with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner all the three festival days).

Day 6: 15/01/12: Breakfast on the festival site and depart for Dogon country, stop for lunch in Douentza continuation to Sangha, Dinner and overnight (Guest house).

Day 7: 16/01/12: Breakfast in Sangha and drive to Djiguibombo for overnight (Guest house). Between Sangha and Djiguibombo Visit Dogon villages along the Dogon Country escarpment: Banani, Amani , Ireli (Lunch ) and Tireli, in where you will stop 2 or 3 hours to admire a traditional Dogon culture: mask dance; 11th century Telem houses, etc.

Day 8: 17/01/12: Breakfast in Djiguibombo, drive to Badiangara stop for lunch and continuation to Mopti overnight (hotel)

Day 9: 18/01/12: Breakfast and Mopti visit, lunch and drive to Djenne overnight (hotel)

Day 10: 19/01/12: Breakfast and Djenne visit, drive to San, lunch and continuation to Segou, overnight (hotel)

Day 11: 20/01/12: Breakfast and Segou visit, lunch and drive to Bamako overnight (hotel).

A visit of Bamako, according to the date of departure of each person.

The price of this tour includes:

* 4X4 (4-wheel drive) with driver + fuel and English-speaking

* Three nights under Touareg Tent in our camp on the site of
the Festival + mat + food + mineral water (3 liters/
person/day)
* all other (7) nights in Auberges or Guest room/Hotels and all
meals
* All the touristic taxes, and the fees for tourist visits, eg
museum in Timbuktu

Price does not include

* Festival Entrance Pass
* All the other drinks other than the 3 litres of mineral water
included at Festival.

PS: Nights being very cold in the desert, each person must bring
his / her own suitable warm clothing, eg., fleece jackets, plus
appropriate sleeping bag (to -5 deg)

A little about MALI/ Un peu sur le MALI

 

 

Located in the heart of West Africa, Mali is a country of traditions and culture.
Exploring Mali, it is to leave the search for a wise and authentic Africa, an Africa proud of what she has given over the centuries to a mankind.

 

General information 

  •  Capital: Bamako 
  • Democratic regime 
  • Population: 11'956'700 inhabitants of which 47%  have less than 15 years 
  • Surface: 1'241'238 km² 
  • Density: 8,6 inhabitants/ km² 
  • Life expectancy: 46 years 
  • Religions: Islam 80%, traditional beliefs 10%, Christianity 10% 
  • Bamako: “Bamako is a Bambara word meaning “Crocodiles River”. In 1806 Bamako was a Bozo fishing and trading community of about 6000 people. In 1883, the French captured the town and in 1908 Bamako became their regional seat of power and they built their residence on the hill of Koulouba. At the independence in 1960, Bamako was chosen as the capital…”  

 

  • Djenné: At l30 km southwest of Mopti, Djenne has retained the prerogatives of a fortress located in island in Niger river arms, what its founders wanted to give it twelve centuries a go. Although its multi-story buildings still give away the appearance of an impregnable citadel. But the waters of the Bani that precisely at this point are divided into two branches have continued to surround the city as to better protect both from the east than the west. Thus, wherever you come visitor, access control of Djenne is the Bani, a ferry crosses over the winter and we crossed the ford in the dry season. .

 

  • Mopti : The first weapon of seduction in Mopti is primarily a the particularity of its site. The city consists of three islands connected by dikes, it is way the nickname "Venice Preserved of water. Other attractions include: * Komoguel mosque, a jewel of the city, built in 1933. It is precisely modeled on the Djenne one; * Artisan souk where visitors can find the famous blankets (Kassa) to various reasons, the bracelets of bronze, the famous earrings with gold leaf or bronze Fulani women; * The general market is held Thursday and set around the port, where dealers offer many items that appeal to visitors; * The river port: Location of all meetings and all trade is the central point of the city where heavy pinnacles are constantly advertise; * Market "sougouni, daily food market, rich in color. * Villages of fishermen and farmers reached by canoe on the left bank of the river Bani; * Pools islands where nesting birds; * Factories canoes beside the restaurant,''Bozo''; * The making of clay pots potters in the area of the mosque; * Neighborhoods Bella and Fulani traditional architectural style Sudan
  •  Dogon country : Dogon country seems lost in Mali. But it remains one of the most fascinating of West Africa. The Dogon and cliff in which they live are a world apart: a vertical world, structured and unparalleled gods, of Blacksmiths and "Hogon" insider Beginners, parties will drop every 60 years, masks and dances incomparable, legendary arch-complex and fascinating. The Dogon live in a traditional animist... at the heart of a Muslim country.  

 

    • Tombouctou : Timbuktu, spelled Tin-buktu by tuareg, is a city in the West Africa (Mali). It is historically important as a point on the trans-Saharan caravan route. It is located on the southern edge of the Sahara, about 8 mi (13 km) north of the Niger River. Timbuktu was a centre for the expansion of Islam, an intellectual and spiritual capital at the end of the Mandingo Askia dynasty (1493-1591) and home to a prestigious Koranic university. Three great mosques built at that time, using traditional techniques, still remain.
